DP tuner shifting question

I just installed my DP tuner that I received today. I love it so far but have a few questions.
When I'm under a normal to medium acceleration it will shift firmly and quick but when I'm under a heavy acceleration it will keep between 2500 and 3000 rpm and the shifts seem slow, soft, and not firm. Is this the way the tuner is programmed or is my tranny slipping? It always seemed to be firm with my Edge Evolution no matter how hard I was mashing the pedal.

This was mainly tested in the 80e and 120 mode...I havent had a chance to try out the 40 and 60 tow modes yet which is where I'm most concerned about because I dont want it to be slipping during shifts (if thats what it is doing) when I'm towing my trailer.

So, what are the signs of a slipping tranny?

I have a stock tranny (I think) with 175k miles on it.

Boy, I'm loving those answers and sure hope it's normal. I was really worried that my tranny was slipping under the higher horsepower and torque and I really dont have the money for a heavy duty tranny right now because I'm going on a several thousand mile road trip with trailer in tow in less than a month. Maybe I'll just be careful with the go pedal until we return just in case
