The 4 pin and the 7 pin plugs are on the same harness and it plugs into the main rear harness on the left frame rain about even with the spare tire. You should be able to find one of these in the salvage yard and just plug it in. You may need the breakers from the same truck.
Steve great picture. I have both coolers in the exact same locations as your 98 F150.
I guess I also got cheated the 7 pin wiring harness. If you go and look at etrailers.com they have the OEM Ford Harness for 59.95 that will convert the 4 pin to the 7 pin wiring. I'm going to order mine tonight and wire it up next weekend.
Looks like a plug-n-play for yours. It looks like an superior OEM equivalent to the "HOPPY" inline aftermarket harness for 4 pin plugs. You should be good to go with that one.
Yep, tranny cooler on the left, PS cooler on the right. I guess some had the 7 pin and some had both.
LIQUID 1 The Lariat is just a trim package, leather power seats, usually automatic climate control(which I do not like) and some had signals in the mirrors. Oh yeah, the stripe on the outside as well. I prefer the XLT package myself. It has all of the power accesories as well. I don't want leather seats or automatic climate control. I prefer the manual climate control myself. I just put the **** where I want it.

Thanks lxman1..It seems i got a mix bag of a lariat truck..mine has the turn signals in the mirrors, leather power seats which is nice when the kids are wet from the lake, And i have no climate control, which is fine with me..The lariat is sweet..But I seem to like the king ranch a little better..I like the 2 tone seat and interior..For the price difference the XLT is more bang for the buck..But at the time I felt like I got a good deal on my new lariat..oh yea I got the tow package with the 4 prong only..Its been an awesome truck I cant complain.
By the way, the trailer towing package is not standard equipment on any level of F-150 that I am aware of. When I bought my KR, the Class III trailer towing package (reccommended for towing over 4000 lbs) was a listed option on my window sticker. The package included a wiring harness with 7-pin connector, Class III frame mounted hitch receiver, heavy duty shock absorbers, 72-amp hr battery and an auxillary transmission oil cooler. Mine has both the flat 4-pin and round 7-pin connectors for the trailer wiring.

Thats what I figured. I do have the 2 coolers behind the front bumper but i dont think I have the Class III. I clearly dont have the 7 pin wiring but it's wired to accept it with an OEM harness.
