Erratic Tans. Temp.?

Erratic Tans. Temp.?
I'm getting erratic trans temp readings. I suspicion a bad sender. I have Autometer Gauges. Do I need a special sender or just ask for a trans temp sender at the local store? thanks

Any sending unit will work. I have heard horror stories about these Autometers doing stuff like this for no reason, outta the blue. Go through and check your temp sending wire from the sender to the gauge. Look for any damage, thats where I would start. Good luck!

Need some help guys!!! i have a 03 super duty diesel 6.0 and the trans temp gauge on the cluster is going bonkers.Tthe needle goes to red.I have another trans temp gauge on the pillar and that one reads normal.Is there a sensor and and were is it located??? Any help would be greatly apreciated..

If you have a connection plug on the wire just befor it goes to the prob....check it....unplug and clean it and plug it back in.
Solved the same problem with my Isspro tranny temp gauge.
