Hello all;
I am working on replacing the exhaust on my 97 f-250 with a 460. I am looking at headers from L&L, as they are one of the few manufacturers that make them to fit stick shifts. I have several questions for the group. 1) What diamater pipe would work best? 2) Recomentations for a high flow, legal, cat?
I the motor is fairly stock, and I use it for towing a 10k fifth wheel in the mountans. The catch is I live in Smog-a-ifornia so I cannot ditch the cat.
As equipped in the signature: my Carb Guy says that ... considering CID, operating RPM and my using the truck as a work vehicle and not a street rod ... a 2.5" single with a low restriction muffler is adequate. How much time do you spend above 4,000 rpm ???
If I were to do it again I would like to do a 3" single (aux. fuel tank on the left side of the driveshaft) mandrel bent from the muffler back.
