I'd use 5w30 in the Ranger, and 10w30 in the boat's engine. Use a quality dino oil, Chevron Supreme, TropArtic, even CITGO SuperGuard, these are all good oils, at reasonable prices.

Thanks Ed. Wife picked up a case of Napa 5w30 yesterday. I agree on the Chevron being better. We useualy get that. Thanks again.
10w30 in the Windsor to brake her in than maybe switch to synthedic? What ya think? She will be run at WOT to about 4k than backed of to around 3800 rev's for cruise.

Does the marine engine have roller or flat tappets. That makes a big difference today as to what oil you need. If the marine block is flat tappet, I recommend Delo 400 or similar. The marine supply stores seem to sell a lot of straight 30 and 40 Delo, as well as 15W-40.

Yes Jim it's flat tappets. I was thinking the 15w40 also. It has always worked well in the hopped up Loggers I have ran for more years than malti-grade has been around.
I'm open to more opinions. But I like this one for the Windsor so far. Would ya recomend changing to Synth after brake in. Or just stay with the dyno?
