I have a 90 Bronco F/S XLT with a 302 v-8. It's
been fine until about a week ago. It quit all of a
sudden. I checked for spark, and had none. Pulled
the dist cap, and the rotor doesn't turn. Pulled
the dist, and the drive gear was stripped. Check-
ed the oil pump, and it turned ok, replaced the gear, lasted 2 days, and did it again. Replaced
dist with A-1 Cardone rebuilt, lasted 3 days, and did it again! Anybody run into this before???
When you replaced the distributor gear, did you check the cam gear? Sounds like the teeth are wore on the cam, which sucks. If the cam teeth look okay, how is the thrust plate for the cam?
