No key necessary.....

1985 F150 300ci 3+od manual.

OK the other day I was at the gas station and I hopped up in the truck and without thinking, I just turned the ignition and it fired up and ran.....without the key in it. I can drive around no problem. This worries me becuase if I just left the truck in a parking lot, someone could jump in and drive off without hotwiring it (provided they actually tried to turn the key)

Is this just a faulty ignition that could be fixed if I replaced it?

By the way, no one better get any klepto ideas....

I have the same problem. Too lazy to fix it though.

Old, worn cylinder tumblers. Comes in real handy in the winter when you want to leave it running in a parkign lot or something. Take the key out and lock the door
