I was on a trip, after 200 miles the truck started to slow down, the tranny downshifted. The rpms went up, but the speed continued to decay. The truck acted like it was starving for fuel. It finally died. I let it sit for a few minutes, it restarted, & ran rough. I shut it down & restarted it. It ran fine for 130 miles, then started it again. I have changed the air & fuel filters,the fuel pump,& the cps sensor. The fuel tank has been dropped & cleaned out & screens cleaned. The truck ran fine on the trip back for 250 miles it started the same stuff again. I ad the cruise on at 70 mph,when going uphill the tranny would shift ,rpms go up, speed decayed, then topped the hill & it slowly recovered. The remainder of the trip it was intermittent. Sometimes I would have to pull over & let it set for a few minutes. Then it would run ok for a while. The truck was serviced 2 weeks. Please Help!
It ran rough intermittly for the last 2 weeks, today it didn't do it. But I only drove 22 miles. It acts like it isn't getting enough fuel.
sometimes it will clear up by itself , sometimes I have to pull over & let it sit for a few minutes & restart it a couple of times. My nephew has the same problem on his 2002 7.3l
Also if you know anybody with a scann tool capable of reading live PID's on a powerstroke there are a couple of quick checks to see how the tranny is doing.

I just purchased a Actron cp9180 AutoScanner Plus. I was reading about it .It says it will scan while running down the road. I will call the the factory tomorrow to make sure. I'm not sure if it works on powerstrokes. The palce I bought it from says it will.
Fuel Pressure - Need to plumb a gauge into the test port on the fuel bowl and check pressure at idle and at WOT.
Injector short - Need to ohm out the valve cover harnesses
Valve Cover Connector Pin Out
G G I I C I I G G
G = Glow Plug
I = Injector +
C = Injector Common
Ohm at the valve cover connector with the harness dissconected Between I and C should be < 5 ohms.
It could be the tranny but the rough running / low power could just make it seem like the tranny is slipping.
The fuel pump was replaced yesterday with a factory pump from powerstrokeshop.com. I 've used 2 different pumps.Changed the fuel filter, cleaned the tank, replaced the CPS. Is the valve cover harness acessible from the outside of the valve covers?
I'm betting on a torn o-ring on one of the quick connects between the fuel tank and the fuel pump allowing too much air into the fuel. With all that work you've already done, that's about all that is left.
What I would do right now is cut them off and install some fuel injection rated flex fuel line in their places and test drive. The rest of the quick connects can be left alone. They work great on holding pressure in, but are lousy at keeping the air out if the fuel is being drawn toward the pump.
If that fixes it, give consideration to doing the Hutch mod for even more improvement.
