400M Oil Pressure

I've heard that you can improve the oiling of a 351/400M engine by running an external oil line from the oil gallery near the pump to another location on the block.
Has anyone done this?
Where can I get more inforamtion on this?
Thanks.

I have not heard of this method. But on my 351C I installed a set a Moroso oil restrictors in the oil galleries where the main bearings go. They cost around ten bucks and all you have to do is thread the oiling hole so they fit. It's a good investment when completely rebuilding one of these bad boys.

Bryan,

What you say is correct...it is mentioned in the April 2000 'Petersons 4 Wheel and Off Road' issue on page 136. You may want to contact them after reading the tech-tip and see if they can direct you in finding out more info...if ya do, let us know...I want to do the same thing...Rick
