Broken driveshaft in landing gear

Well, this weekend I broke the driveshaft in my landing gear.
2005 rockwood 5er. called ATWOOD and they think it was defective shaft, not something that I did. Anybody else broke theirs.

I have a '94 Prowler 5ver. My front landing gear 'clutch' broke not long after it was new. Prowler send me a new one at no charge, 1 year warranty was up. My gear drive shaft was ok. Over the years, I have had to replace the 90 degree angle gears because of much wear because of poor lubrication tho....

Funny you should ask this question. This weekend my extend wouldn't extend but would retrack. Got out the manual crank and quess what it was the wrong one from the factory. The crank has an end that is round with a slot cut into it and my shaft has a hex on the end. Dooh I kept messing with it and finally got the extend to extend far enough to get hooked back up. If it didn't I don't know how I would have got it hooked back to my truck. Called factory today and see what they say.

Does your manual crank have the slot or a hex on the end ?

The landing gear has a slot. The slider has a hex drive.
