block casting #'s

I was wondering if a FE with a 61 cast into the block above the 352 meant anything. I have found a motor at the dump, yes the dump, and was wondering if it is worth anything. the 352 in my 65 only has the 352 mark, as dose a 360 that i have.

Nope not really. More than likely it's the part of the mold numbering system used when casting. If you can get it free see what heads,intake,crank and rods etc...are on/in it. Might make you a little extra cash selling the parts.

look for a date code on the heads or intake.
C6XXX or C8XXX will start to tell you something.
block date is located under oil filter housing boss on left front of block.
save the FE if you can!
