Had a problem on vacation, turned on the A/C and now it will only blows out of the defroster vents,, Appears that the vacuum motor/pump that supplies all of the vacuum for these has took a dump. ??? Does anyone know the legal name for one of these? and maybe how to locate whitch relay s/w it is incase thats the problem? and is it a dealer Item only? Thanks..

I believe it's just called a vacuum motor I'm not sure on a relay # or fuse #. Yes I believe it's a dealer item only. Make sure it's not working though you could just have a vacuum leak. If yours it 4wd I hear the hubs can cause a massive vacuum leak. There was a post back a page or two on this issue.

Lets hope that this ain't going to turn into something major. I've had the wife turn the key on and off, And the pump does nothing, I even took the vacuum lines off and nothing.... So I am hoping that this will be an easy fix.

It is the pump, I found a quick fix, I went to FORD a bought a new one. $160.00 I had no idea that those little electric train motors that I had in my toy trains as a kid would ever be worth so much money. What a scam!
But its fixed...
