Clutch Bracket

On the 65 with the 240 i have a grannie 4speed and the clutch attachment is on the block. Changing out to a 302 and wonder if i should just change out the tranny or if someone out there sells a adapter bellhousing

Well I did this exact swap. The bellhousing fits the 302 same bolt pattern. What is your exact question. Does the tranny work or if the bellhousing is the same. It all bolts up no problem.

Made same swap and found the threads on the clutch pivot ball had different threads than the threads in 302 block. If find faced with same situation suggest try and get from donor truck. Believe I have seen the pivot ball for the 302 in Ford part supplier's catalog. I retreaded the pivot ball to match threads in 302 block. Other options is to tap thread in block to match the pivot ball, felt if I screwed up the rethread I could always come up with another ball. If decide to tap threads in block, make sure to it before installing engine. If recall, also had to shim the bracket on frame so clutch assembly is not at an angle.

I've got leftover parts for the 302 clutch config. Specifically the 'Z' tube & pivot ball in question. Anything I have you are welcome to for shipping alone. PM me.
