glow plug controller relay part #?

Does anyone have a part # for just the gp relay? I guess a # for the controller would work too.
I have a 93 250 7.3 idi I actually had bypassed the controller but not the normal way and had Dave talk me thru over the phone because I think I had the wrong relay it took a while but we did it. I think it might be easier to just get a relay that supposed to go and follow thw past posts.

Not sure if this will help but I just replaced mine in my 85 6.9L. So I have the old one sitting here. Its Marked "Motorcraft P90C"

I think this one is actually still good but I replaced it with one I bought off of ebay from a guy named Chuck. He sells em with or without a switch and wiring to bypass the controller. $60.00 bucks on ebay. Not sure what Ford would want for one but I bought this one because when I went to price the controller they wanted $250.00 Canadian. :-(

There is a wire running from the positive battery terminal to one of the larger studs on the relay. From that stud you run a wire to one of the smaller studs. Then you attach your switch to that same small stud. I mounted my switch in the bezel next to the glow plug light/wiper switch. Used a common ground under the steering column to groud the switch. Worked good.

I did bypass the controller before but had problems wiring it because I had the wrong relay and I do think it was a starter relay so the wiring was different, so I think with the correct gpr it should be easier. I had it at the dealer to replace oil seals etc and fuel leaks then to my suprise they rewired the controller the 'correct' way and I didnt notice until the next morning!

The glow plug relay system used on 86 and earlier trucks has nothing in common with the one used on 87 and later trucks.

86 and earlier has the relay mounted on the fender
87 and later are mounted on the back of the motor

What works on one will not work on the other.

83 thru 86, the controller supplies power to the relay to close it.
87 thru 94 the controller supplies a ground to the relay to close it.

Dyrtbyrd, that looks like the correct relay, NAPA online did not say much about the pinout on the relay.

Onereelbigfishy,
I hope you mistyped how you wired your relay.
It would work if you wired the battery to one of the big terminals.
Remove the wires on both the small terminal.
And then jumped power from that terminal to one of the small terminals.
The other small terminal should be where you hooked your switch that goes to ground to activate the relay.

As you typed it, you are grounding the battery positive terminal through the switch.
