We managed to fix the downpipe today.. Ya'll heard while back that it was resting on the firewall so it made a lot of racket.. Well since we fixed it the tone in exhaust has changed.. Before it use to just rattle period..
Only problem is.. I have some sort of drone around 2100 rpms.. Not sure if thats just the tone or what.. Kinda sounds like a pissed off coffee can.. I got the 3.5" DP, 4" System with 6" Tip.. No cat no muffler..
Any ideas ? It doesn't bother me too much.. I'm just glad the rattling is gone now.. It would start at 1100 and annoy the hell out of you!
Awesome.. Question now is it the exhaust system I have? Or the turbo droan? That'd be my problem on figuring out.. Never noticed it when I had the stock exhaust on..

Hmm..........now that is a quandry. You may need to do some serious high speed real world testing.
It could also be the size/shape/length of the tip too. When you adjusted the up-pipe did you realign the rest of the system? It can be a pain, but getting all the pipes hanging straight and not having to force one spot or another over to get mounts off the frame helps sometimes.
Ok.. Yeah I'm betting its just my exhaust system and 6" tip.. I got a 4" OD exhaust.. No biggie.. Sounds kinda wicked I reckon.. Again I haven't heard it outside the truck yet..
