Well, I'm going to step out on a limb and say that the stabilizer is not your problem. That is more of a bump steer dampener. If the steering is off, it will wear out even the best shock or stabilizer. Of course, you see that I have a stock stabilizer and 285s, so I could be wrong, but I'm curious as to how.
If the PS system is good, I think a repalacement is in order if the steering is solid.
My pump doesnt wine or leak and seems to work OK, it wont turn my 37s much without the truck rolling a couple inches, but that seems normal they are 13'5 inches wide. Maybe im wrong?
Yeah, my bad. That should have read alignment and not steeering. I would think that a healthy steering systm would still turn the wheels but may complain about it even at that size. I could be wrong though so wait for folks with big tires. I stil say the pump should turn the wheels although it may complain about it. Again, I don't have big tires.
i'm running 37"s on mine. if the truck isn't on and i turn the wheels they will turn just will be hard and my PS cap will pop off and fluid will go everywhere. with the truck on i can still turn the wheels easier. my only problem is my backspacing. also as of the momeny i have no stabilizer since mine was leaking and didn't do anything. so i'm in the market too for one but i'm deciding if i want to go with bilstein (if i can find a dealer for their stabilizers) or just got with skyjacker or someone like that. i'm for sure going for a dual setup 1) looks real nice (specially with bilstein) and 2) helps out when you do go offroad or rought terrarin.
Everyone's PS pump will leak if the truck is not on, I found out the hard way while my truck was in the air replacing my stock stabilizer I had a buddy climb up there and spin the steering wheel while I watched to make sure the shock didn't bottom out or extend too far, and wouldn't you know it - my truck is pee-ing PS fluid down my back. My friends got a good laugh out of that one! What backspacing R U referring to?

The adds for the dual stabilizers are reccomended if you have a snow plow also so they say I was thinking about getting a dual system for that reason any better ideas??

I have the Skyjacker single shock on the steering stablizer and I ended up having to remove it due to hard turning, and at times seemed to stop even though I did not go to the stop point. Once I removed it, the steering got easier. The shock had quite a bit of small dents and one big one dent (6 yrs old shock). Eventually will probably get another one.
You may want to replace the steering fluid with synthetic ATF and make sure the front tires are at their proper pressure.
I have 35" tires and they are now getting to the point of having to be replaced. I've noticed before that they start to have a harder time turning when they get old.
Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers sells a direct replacement for our trucks. I don't remember the brand name of the steering dampner but it is an upgrade and it does fit in the stock location.. Country

http://www.trucktoyzperformance.com/...p?imageid=1808 i'll be doing after the summer when i make more money. i see it on numerous trucks. king 2.5 shock and a custom bracket that hooks onto the ubolts. its up higher so won't get banged as much.
That seems to be most ideal location. It seems most that need to be replaced are beatup from hitting rock or the like. Does anyone know of an economical setup like this or made one for cheap?
