[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Sep-02 AT 10:05 PM (EST)]I would guess that you didn't get a coil pack "plugged" back in or that you broke one of the plugs during the installation process. It would also be possible to have a plug drop just before you got it to the threads and when that happened it pushed the tip up against the electrode.
Since you have a check engine light - read the code and see which cylinder is out.

Plug problem
i had the same problem when i first changed my plugs. at 1st i thought it was the plugs i used (bosch), i then changed to normal ac delco plugs. that didn't fix it, so i went and got a diagnosis. i changed out the wires and haven't had a problem since.
