And we all know how this works most of the time. It's usually one from the "refurbished exchange" department.... not a new replacement.

It should be replaced with a brand new unit if the vehicle is still under warranty.

-how can a new unit be installed 2 years after the fact,,sometimes refurbished is better than repaired, the warranty is longer and you get any and all mods-updates etc.

Seems like a good size list, my truck only had one or two things on the oasis report. How many miles are on it?

I believe the spark plug threads were extended for 03? If thats right id try to get an 03+. Pretty sure the trans recienved the last upgrades in 02 or 03? Id try to get whatever year had these issues repaired as they seem to be common.

This will forever be the truck that I let get away.

The truck was at a dealer about 35 miles away. I called right before I left to make sure they still had it. My wife who usually wants nothing to do with going to dealerships decides to tag along. I tried everything I could to prevent this but she was hell bent on coming along. Mind you this truck would be for her, but sometimes it takes time for her to appreciate good things.

Well when I get to the dealer I see a salesman hop in and drive it to the back.
I ask another salesman and he runs back to see what was going on. Turns out a guy who lived 4 hours away driving up to buy it. The salesman ran back inside and talked to the manager and he said that since that guy did not put any money down I could have first crack. So I give it the once over and this truck was CLEAN!! It looked brand freekin new. The frame didn't even have surface rust.

I took it for a drive and it felt great. I was worried about it only having a 5.4 but coming from a 4.6 Expedition I was not underwhelmed.

I told the salesman that I had to talk my wife into this. We talked about my trade and he sounded like he could get me what I wanted for my Expy so I was all set.

Once we got back they gave my Expy the once over and started the appraisal. My wife started nit picking every little bit of the car and said she didn't want it. I know damn well that if went alone and brought it home she would have loved it.

So I told the guy to forget it and we went home.

02 XLT
mint body and interior
53k miles
$14,500

If I could afford to have 2 gas guzzlers in my fleet I would have picked it up for myself.
