Sandblasting ????

Hey all, I just sandblasted my hood hinges for my 78 f-250, and wanted to know if i was in the wrong to sand blast the sprins as well??

I made a jig a today at work to stretch out the springs so i could blast them and paint them while they are expended!!

any issues I should be wary of??

im using a blast cabinet, with aluminum oxide media.

as long as ya didnt strech them too far should have no problems

I didnt stretch them much, maybe half of normal, just enough so I can get the sand between the coils, and then be able to clean and paint.
