Well bad news so i got out today and i notice 2 big not huge scratches along the bed where the tailight is looks like it got keyed or some sort of ding i dont know from what its not noticeable from far back but close up it is im so F***ing pissed people aint go respect these days im ready to break someone hands
I was about to buy scratch remover today from wally world for 15 bucks but decided to wait and see what should i do to get rid of these dam scratches can anyone help me i want this fixed asap and im shocked that this happened i had no problems before but who knows it could of happened at work school..
I got one worst. When I had my 71 Lemans car. It had a fibreglass header. Parked in a shopping mall lot and coming out to find a Shopping cart imbedded into the header. The cart seems to have been squished by another vehilce into my header by 3 inches. I just had the car painted. A few weeks later to now find a bumper crease down the whole length of the passenger side of my car. From front door right to the back bumper. Had to repaint whole car again. GGGRRRRRRR!!!!
Are they surface scratches, or into the paint? Take care with that scratch remover, use your fingers. Everytime you use scratch remover, it takes off a little bit of the clear coat.
Suggestion: Deep scratches that are down to the metal or primer can be fixed, and you'll never know they were there. Get the correct colour touch up paint...shake well and mix it with some clear epoxy. Fill in the scratches a bit higher above the paint surface. When dry, sand with 600 fine wet-dry paper. Polish out the sanding marks..Looks great doesn't it!

yeah it hurts eh dustin!!! i washed mine the other day to find a big rub mark on my passenger side fender...i think it will wax out though. hey, has anyone tried the Turtle Wax scratch and swirl remover?? its a new product i think. would it wreck the clearcoat too??
I would try to get some polish, if its not that bad of a scratch. Scratchs are a pain in the @ss though, they can be touchy to fix. Sorry to hear it Dustin, I will lend you my baseball bat, and you can go breaking some legs!
Glen i used to have a 70 pontiac lemans, it looks almost identical to the gto, I sold mine for peanuts and pulled the motor out of it for my 81 grand prix. Mistake!
That`s my worry with the 67 Stang, parking lots my biggest fear!
I never take it when I`m going to leave parked unattended unless it`s in a very secure spot.
Any of the various scratch removers will remove a bit of the clear coat.
NEVER EVER use a wax with silicone on clear coat paint. NEVER EVER spray silicone on or near clear coat paint. Silicone will strip the clear coat right off.
READ the label...make sure it's pure carnuba wax. If it contains silicone...don't use it on clear coat.

i'm thinking of taking my '02 to the bodyshop for a refreshing too. there's a pile of little rock chips and tiny hairline scratches on it that annoy me...maybe they have a trick and an extra few coats of clear to keep her purdy...
