I have a 1950 f-2 that I am going to transplant a newer powerplant into because my flathead is tired and stress cracked. I also have a locked up flathead out of a 49 car that was at one time a drag car. The deck has been ground with tulip valves, high dome pistons and so on. Anyway I have the intakes that were run one the drag engine. I have set-ups for a single stromburg, 2 dueces, 3 dueces, and a 4 barrel intake, they are all aluminum but right off hand I do not know the brand as they are packed away. Do these manifolds have any value to them? Should I put them on ebay. What should I expect out of them. thanks for the help
I'd say no value whatsoever. Since they are no doubt taking up valuable space in your garage, simply send them to me and I will ensure that they are put to proper use
Yah, put them on ebay, be sure to specify they only fit a 1918 Rolls Royce straight 8 and don't set a reserve. Start the bidding at oh, say $0.50, Make it a 1 day auction ending at 3:45 AM on a Mon and tell me the auction #s just so I can watch and laugh if someone actually bids on them (yah that's the ticket...).
In all seriousness flathead speed equipment prices are skyrocketing, collectors are paying big money just to sit them on a shelf, and flathead enthusiasts are dying to get their hands on any useable parts, after all they don't make them any more, and never made that many to begin with. A lot were melted down during the scrap drives, and ended up as beercans.
aw c'mon guy's he needs to send the flatheads, no better yet i live in springfield illinois jus' tell me where your at and i'll come releive your overburdened garage of that useless flathead speed equipment and motors and i'll give you a 351w a 302 and two c-4's that i need to find homes for . how's that for a deal ?
