eletric fuel pump

eletric fuel pump

i have a 1978 f150 300 i6 that i changed with a 87 that was fuel inj but i removed all the fuel inj and put my single barrel carb on and i was wondering the best way to run power for the ele fuel pump need sug. pls

You don't want to use the EFI's electric pump, EFI operates around 40psi and Carb around 14psi. There are carb electric fuel pumps available, I belive most of those are mounted near the carb. Ground it and add a relay to a switched circuit like on the duraspark module.

i know it in my 78 i bought a afetermarkert pump i was just checking how to hook it up thanks why a relay and where at on the duraspark

The relay will allow you to tap into a factory circuit but only use a small amount of current to activate. On the duraspark there is a keyed circuit.



It looks like you have 3 options, two wires into the duraspark and one into the coil. Use one of those or another key on switched wire to trigger the relay and let the relay supply power to the fuel pump.

ok so one of the two wires on the two wire plug going to the duraspark is keyed and witch one one the coil is it the one for the tack test or the one that says bat
