Door ajar

Good Morning,

I am a new guy to these boards. I am having a problem with the door ajar indicator light on my 98 F-150. It stays on even when there are no door open. I can just click the map light or the interior lights off and on and it goes off. I have been told that it was a common problem, but the dealer wants $50 just to take a look.

Door ajar

Open the doors and spray the latch mechanisms with WD-40. This should clean the switches that activate the warning light.

Thank's Paul. I would not have been a happy camper if I paid $50 only to find out it was only sprayed with WD-40.
