Massive Air Leak

Ok a buddy of mine has a 2006 FX4 and driving down the freeway he hears this noise what sounds like a air tank just opened he stopped popped the hood and its gone gets back in the truck takes off and again air is purging from somewhere. Has anyone else had this happen to them or have any experience with this issue????

He doesn't have anytypes of FiPK or CAI installed... does he?

Ya he does, but we found the source. We went for a ride and sure enough it sounds like air. Turns out it seems to be a wheel bearing siezing up whenever it gets hot.
