cracked manifold

Just bought this truck knowing it had exaust leak. after inspection cracked manifold. Just took it off today and found that the bolt in the very back was broken off in the head. Now i know why manifold was cracked. I know if i just put the new one on it will just crack. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to get it out without pulling head off.

I just went through the same thing. I bought a 94 F250 4X4 with a 460. I had a bad exhaust leak.

One of the Studs broke during removal. I had a warped passenger side manifold. I was able to remove the stud by removing the wheel, shock support and innerfenders.

Replaced the stud and had the manifold surfaced and reinstalled.

Of coarse more work than I anticipated, but worth taking care of.

Lastly, I had an exhaust shop redue the collector stub.

Good luck, hope you are able to get to the broken stud okay.

Got it out with no damage. Used a series of left hand drills. They worked real well. Started with 1/8 then 3/16 and finally 1/4, thats when it broke loose. I sure am glad to be done with that. The truck sounds great.
