HI, my 87 F-150 idles around 14000rpms all the time. I've installed a new TPS and a idle control switch( not sure what its called) and there is no change. I read the codes I took form the code reader the best I could and on the key on engine off it said it passed the test but with the engine running I got these codes-
45 X DIS coil pack 3 circuit failure or coil 1 primary circuit failure.
X Thermactor secondary air is misdirected
52 X X X Power steering pressure switch always open or closed
77 X System failed to recognize brief WOT during Dynamic Response Test (user error).
12 X Cannot control RPM during ER Self-Test high RPM check.
13 X Cannot control RPM during ER Self-Test low RPM check.
Can anyone tell me about these failures and how to fix them and do's it sound like it will fix my fast idle? I'm bran new to the forum and thanks for your help
45=thermactor switch is bad or vacuum leak
52=did you turn the wheel during the test
77=did you do a wide open throtle during the test
12=check iac valve
13=idle too low or too high
Thanks for the reply. Since I posted this ? I found that I had code 44 (Thermactor Air Injection system inoperative (Right side) not code 45. How can I fix code 44 and would it make high idle? Also since then I replaced the upper intake manifold gasket.
