Well today came home and the property across the raod is sold. To who or how much is unknown. So I guess I will have new neighbors soon.
Most mobile home dealers will also include delivery of the mobile home to you anywhere in the province at no extra charge. Well they did 10 years ago when I bought this place.
Just go online and advertise for house to move or mobile homes when you get the property. Even see if you can get some old garages to move so you have some place to park your stuff into while you build.
Sweet guys thanks for the ideas. Ive found that most mobile home dealers will move and level a home if you get it from them. I was sort of looking for a fixer upper for as cheap as my cheap *** can get it lol.
I'll tell you cheap is not always good. I got my mobilehome for about 5000 and cost me 800 to move it onto this acrage. That thing was so poorly built from the manufacturer. There was places the outside walls did not have any insulation or it was so thread bare you could see through it. If I put the water dish on the floor by the hallway it would freeze to ice. Glad not got a house here. Tore down that trailer. It was garbage and going to cost a fotune to repair with saggy roof. It was a 72. with 2x2 outside walls. When it was built there was not much on codes.
The trailers now have to have peaked roofs, at least 2x6 outside walls, the codes are almost the same as a house. The place in the north end of the city build what they call modular homes. Just another fancy name for mobile home. Still has Ibeam frame, but no axles or hitches.
Just keep your eye out or even advertise on the net. Alos if this property is in the Corman park you will have a lot to get done real quick.
Thats the rules they have. If you are building or moving a house in they want it completed within a year. All renovations to be done. This way they can get more taxes out of you. Its their bylaw andthey will follow up on your work. Mobile homes is different. You have to get their ok. They will not let mobile homes into some areas of their RM's. They prefer houses, and more taxes gained with houses. They have a lot of rules, and having a work shop on cars is one. If a neighbor complains about vehicles they will make you either get rid of them. If you choose a building site where no one can see them is a bonus, but do not let them know your intention of restoring old trucks, next they will try and say you are operating a business.
That is why the people in my RM and Blucher do not want Corman PArk taking over ours. Our taxes would go up and we have the prestige police on our doorsteps. They just seem to not let peole live the way they want with their hobbies.
Hmm well that is good to know. I have a list of the rules and bylaws that I think would affect me. I didnt however check into the whole moving a mobile home on there. I hope that wont be a problem, because I really dont want to build a brand new house for a couple years yet.
Do they actually send police out to reinforce some of those rm bylaws?
I`m sure they have inspecters.
I`m sure all they have to do is to send you afew notices of what you have to correct/not do/do and then tell you to show up in court.....
I meant the inspectors as the police. They are trying to conduct the RM as if you live in the city. But that is why some people move out to the country. It is hard to have a still going in the city.
Problem is you get some with money move in the country and they don't like neighbor Bobs life style, to them it demeans their lifestyle. So they have money and pressure the RM counsel to make rules to prevent more neighbor BoBs from moving in around them. THey want country living, but city way of life. They are the types that will buy a restored vehicle/hotrod. The do not think seeing a car in a unrestored hulk as agem like they have. Well how does it get like theirs. What you get is a bunch of country sbobs ruling the rm their way, not in our relaxed way.
Well I can be an *** to the point where I could probably get some rules changed to a point. I think most of them seem like I could follow them. I did notice on their website they even have a stipulation on how many unmovable vehicles you can have on your property. The good thing about rules, is a guy can bend them a little So I figure if Im creative enough, I should make out ok.
