Somebody makes a kit, or did at one point. My buddy just did a 1970 (customer) Chevy CST and installed one piece glass, and power windows. I'm pretty sure he said wherever it came from offered one for Fords as well. Think it was like $800.00 though (for the Chevy) and still needed a little work to install.
There's a little tab you'd have to cut out that holds the inner and outer doorskin together, but I can't think of anything else that would get in the way, except for maybe deep speakers.
site says that ford kits are coming soon. I read where he has the templates ready, just waiting on demand, glass supplier has a min order or something...
I'm stuck in the past! I just cant imagine what my 77 would look like witnout a vent.
My 97 hasn't a vent and it looks pretty good to me.
I think it would be an improvment. 77Red's Photo Shop idea would be the cat's meow, but who has that kind of time and talent? Nobody sitting at my PC does.
I have the talent, and might have the time, but my camera and mouse are at home. Pain in the butt doing photo editing on a laptop and I don't have any high-res images suitable for showing the difference. I'll see about whipping it up tomorrow when I get home if I have time. I'm interested in this modification but I think removing the vent windows takes away some of the character... (I guess we'll see after I edit a photo) plus they are great for angling the wind out of your face.
My biggest complaint is that the wing windows whisle something fierce (closed) on the highway... can't hear my music, or talk to the passenger. pretty annoying.
Even replacing the weathersripping doesn't help much
