I have an 87 F150 with a 4.9
The key was left on while changing the power steering gear box.
Now I cant get it to start.
The starter is crankinig the motor seems like no spark.
Changed coil but still no go same problem.
Any ideas?
i don't think having the key on while changing the steering box matters, worst case it kills your battery. it's probably just a coincidence. first thing check all your fuses make sure one didn't blow. do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on?? pull the plug wires one at a time and hold it against a ground to see if it sparks. if you got spark then check for power at your injectors. check fuel pressure.
It was just a coincidence. Checked all fuses, started tinkering around with test light and found that the distributor resistor was bad.
Thanks for the input!
