Mirrors folding

Hmmm...I'm missing something here. The extendable towing mirrors do fold forward and backward. They pivot on the door.
Or am I being dense? Could be my blond roots showing but if that's the case...they fell out years ago!

They only folded toward the rear of the truck on the early models. I think they changed them in 01 to fold either direction.
Weekendwarrior, I think if you want them to fold both ways you are going to have to spit up the cash and buy the newer mirrors. While you are at it you can get the extendable ones, and even add turn signals and defrosters if you want. All super duty mirrors are interchangeable, you just might have to do a little wiring to get everything to work right.

Huh, I thought they changed them earlier than that. Guess I was wrong. The newer mirrors definitely fold both ways though (my 07's do).

My 2002 mirrors fold both directions. My understanding is that 2002 was the year they made the change.
