How do you identify a limited slip Ford 9" differential using the code on the tag on the differential?
Also is there a way to identify the same thing for a dana 44?

This is how mine looks:
WFE-E B
3L50 9 646B
the 3L50 is the gear ratio - 3.50 and the L is the Limited Slip, 9 of course being 9" (the rest of the ID I don't know) I have no idea if yours looks like my axle tag, I just took mine off cause the LS took a dump and stripped the splines.. As for the front, I don't know, cause mine was already missing.
you could also call up a Ford dealership parts counter give them the info that is on the tags. They should be able to check the info on their computer. When I was getting ready to start pulling my rear-end off to be rebuilt, that was how I was able to I.D. the rear 8.8" and front Dana 44.
