My stepson is lobbying me to buy the combo Mickey Thompson MTZ/ Summit wheels from Summit Racing when my existing tires wear out, which will likely be the end of summer. My 95' F-150 has a two inch lift, which I think would give plenty of clearance for 30" tires. 99% of my driving is on the roads, with snow in the winter. Occasionally the truck goes off road to our cabin in West Virginia, so I'd like a tire with reasonable side wall strength. I've lost 2 Good year Wrangler HTS tires in the past 2 years being sliced on rocks.
My question is, has anyone had experience with these tires? Do they have good wear, traction and strength?
The tires I have now are 275/75R15. With the bigger tires, should I get wheels with a different offset?
I run 31/10/15 (32's but rub)on stock truck and had 33" tires with 2" lift coils and extra leaf (front bumper was moved out. ) .
As for tires
Wear not great on any MT I had any way
traction very good and tuff
These tire were on a 96 F150 I bought fixed and resold . If you like tire noise these are for you. Go with a less aggressive tread if you want a quite ride. They are a stiff riding tire and may not be good for long trips . I drive 500+ miles a week so ride and sound matter to me. Good luck on what ever you do. They are a neat looking tire.
