72 4x4 Knuckle ?
Hi everyone, first this is James’s wife so please bare with me. I have a q for you guys. We are building a 72 4x4 “Hi-Boy” . Dad was working on the brakes and found a lot of play in the front end, He thinks its out. He then started taking the knuckles off, then looks at me and says to ask you all how to rebuild a knuckle. So I guess that’s my first q. I really don’t understand what he means, but figured that it was just me. He also told me this morning that he did not know if the bearings? are good or not because he could not get it off. Sorry I don’t have anymore info to give you at this time, but I can take some pics and have him to tell me exactly what it is he needs to know. Thanks, Falicia

you are probably talking about the front axel steering knuckle. I have an F250 4x4 but have never redone one. My truck has the "closed knuckle" on it as opposed to the "open knuckle" as I have on my F100 4x4. The open knuckle looks just like a universal joint but have never been in a closed before. You might want to post in the 4x4 forum.
