The **** for my wipers wont work. I have no idea how to work it actually.....
I cant pull it, push it, twist it either way, or wiggle it sideways. Basically it wont move. Also the **** doesn't look like the lightswitch. The "metalic" looking part is broke off. Any ideas? I have no idea if the wiper motors are good...
My wife thinks she pushed the **** up and it hummed but then i tried to move it and I couldn't move it again..
The lights and wipers are separate *****. Left is lights. Right is the wipers. The lights **** is round. The wiper **** is hexagon. Pull it once to light parking lights. Pull again for the headlights. To operate the wipers, turn the wiper **** clockwise. There's two click stops - first one low, second high. To operate the windshield washer, push the button in. This is what your wife did and made it go hum. Good thing, the washer works.
well when you push in on it that would activate the washer fluid pump so that is probly the hum she heard. it turns clockwise to activate the wipers 1st click low 2nd click high. all you would need to do is get a replacement i would suggest the intermittant ones so you can have settings like the newer cars. not just a 2 speed it is a plug and play hook up. just remove old one, replace with new one and you have to run a ground.
someone recently posted about doing this its recent so just look around a few pages back

Ok- Got the wipers moving. There wasn't a **** on the lever to turn it- So it was difficult to get turned. =) It works very well though. Do you know if I can order the wiper lever **** off of any of the places that you all recommend? Thanks again!
You can get aftermarket **** replacements if you are not inclined to keep it factory. Or you can post in the classifieds if you want factory ones. Ebay is another good source.
I think I have an extra **** somewhere. If you accept, I will ship it out to you at no charge.

I'm confused about the term Wiper Lever
Do you mean wiper switchshaft **** ?
a Lever is like the turn signal arm.
If so,
If Jerm can't find his... I have an extra one here as well.
Don't look now, but believe it or not...it's still available from Ford, the list price is $9.02. Order one from one of FTE's sponsors DIRECTFORDPARTS or y2kfordparts and save a buck.
Or go junkyarding..it's the same one as most 1970's Ford cars used after 1972. The 1973/75 wiper **** (D1AZ-17513-B) is the same as 1971/72 Ford LTD, 1972 T-Bird.
