Leveling kit install question
I have installed several kits before but have recently lost access to a lift. Has anyone installed a leveling kit on a 05 and up SD with a floor jack? How much of a pain is it? Thanks!

05 and up are pretty simple. You just have to add a dougnut shaped spacer to the bottom of the coil springs. I on the other hand have leaf springs and I did mine with 2 floor jacks and a come-a-long.

I put mine on in the driveway with a floor jack took 30 min. per side I recommend you get a set of spring compressers as that made the job a piece of cake!

i just put in the DR levelling kit (new 2.5" longer coils) 2 weekends ago with a floor jack and 2 jack stands. pretty easy i thought. second one went a lot faster than the first. just be careful when you lower the axel not to tear a brake line. i had to lower it until they were tight on both sides, and squeeze the new coil in, compressed slightly using a ratchet tie (just a little - 3/4" or so). not enough compression to be dangerous and it worked fine.
