OK, guys... help me know that I did the right thing this afternoon. I went ahead and ordered the Volant cold air intake kit for my 2003 Excursion, wanting to improve fuel economy as much as possible. From everything I've read in here so far, it seems that the intake, exhaust, and light foot are all that I can do to get better mileage (obvisouly, along with proper fluid maintenance, tire pressure, tire maintenance, etc.).
Along those lines, what pressures are you guys running in your tires. I just put on a set of Bridgestone Revos this past Saturday, and set them up at 50 psi in front and 55 psi in back. I don't tow anything, but have a vehicle virtually full every time it goes anywhere (6-8 of us for almost every time on the road).
Hopefully you will have better luck with the Volant than I did. I couldn't get the holes to line up as the canister was in the way. I just went ahead and modified a factory intake. Pics in gallery.
