Two weeks ago, my left rear brake light and turn signal went out. No biggie, my rig is five years old, that kind of stuff is to be expected. So I swung by the auto parts store and picked up two new bulbs (might as well replace 'em both, right?). Before I had a chance to change 'em out, they started working again. Oh oh, I have a short, but at least there working. Cool.
Yesterday, the right side went out. Damn!
I figure, I'm gonna change 'em both out and take a quick look to make sure all connections are secure and not corroded.
Had what happen, bulbs burn out? Intermittent bulb function? I think it has probably happened to all of us! Nothing is more frustrating than going to fix a problem just to find out it isn't a problem anymore only to find out later is WAS a problem....or something like that.
Pull the light housings and get new bulbs. Clean up the connections with whatever you can to remove any rust or corrosion. Then put some good dialectic grease on all the connections. Inspect the wires where the come out of the body for any chaffing.
