back pressure sounds
I have a 2003 f350 with the 6.0 diesel that sounds like it is building back pressure some were. It almost sounds like when my 88 f250 with the 460 had a plugged cat converter. But I am not sure that diesels have cat converters, so my question is do diesels have cats and if they don't what would be causeing this problem? It has lost a lot of power due to this problem. We first thouht it was the fuel filters but it is not them. Any suggestions on what the problem could be would help greatly.

Many guys have either gutted the cat or replaced it with a cat delete pipe. You can find the delete pipe online. It's a good idea to store it somewhere at the house in case you need to put it back on one day (such as inspection, etc).

I melted the cat in my '95 f150 and it didn't make any sounds, it just lost all it's power. No harm in gutting the cat in these 6.0's, it's just a federal crime, no big deal
. As said above, if you do delete it, keep it, you never know. Plus they're not cheap to replace if you need one later on.

when I gutted the other all I did is put the empty shell back into place. when they do an inspection they never tap it to find out if it has been gutted. And I don't do emissions on any of my vehicles. And if it is an air to air boot where would that be located at?
