Very Firm Clutch on 1999 F350

I looked at a 1999 F350 CC Long box Power stroke PU today. I posted a couple of days ago about this truck.
I really like the truck and other than the power door locks not working the other problem is when I was driving it today I noticed the clutch pushed in very hard.
This is a 6 speed setup and after 15 minutes of driving it my leg was hurting and my lower back even hurt since the clutch pushed down way to firm.
I would have made an offer on the truck today, but I did not since I would like to find out if there is a way to remedy this.
I have owned several manual transmissions in the past and never had this problem before. This thing would num your leg and lower back in less then 30 minutes if you were doing in town driving.
I am curious if there is a fix for this.

Thanks.

Somethings not right mine is easy to push, no where near what my Hayes HP setup was in my ole bronco. I haven't heard of this before but I'm sure someone will be along with an answer.

Sounds like it might have a bad pressure plate.

If you buy the truck just put a LUK or South Bend clutch in it WITH THE KEVLAR PILOT BUSHING and it'll feel like a Honda Civic. Seriously, when you first put in a new aftermarket clutch, the weight of your leg will almost push the pedal to the floor.

Thanks for the responses. I did take the truck over to my friends tranny shop and he said the pressure plate and flywheel were probably worn out. He quoted me $1000.00 to replace them.

I will mention to Jeff about the LUK or South Bend clutch WITH THE KEVLAR PILOT BUSHING and get a price.

I did make a low ball offer of 8k for the truck since it needs tranny work and new wheels and tires, but he came back at 9k for now.

Thanks again for the info. I was getting a sore lower back and left leg cramps from pushing in on this setup. I had two guys at the tranny shop drive it and they also said that thing would numb your leg in no time.

I second the clutch being bad.
Put in a LUK or SB clutch with the kevlar bushing and push the clutch pedal down with your fingers.
