1989 Bronco - Dashboard Light
Suddenly I have a light on my dashboard which says "check engine." So it was diagnosed and the results say EGR-Low; Code 11 or 32? I am trying to find out what this means. I don't want to go to a mechanic and get ripped off. Can anyone help?

32? Memory, key on engine off or key on engine on? Apply vacuum to your EGR valve and see if it keeps the vacuum. Take the EGR valce position (EVP) sensor off, move the piston in and out of it and measure the resistance - it should change smoothly between 100-5000ohms as you move the piston of the EVP sensor.
If the EGR valve doesn't hold vacuum - change it.
If the resistance of the EVP sensor is out of range or doesn't change smoothly, change the EVP sensor.

Just replaced the EGR valve on my truck showed same codes.My cost was $103.00. Its fairly easy to replace . Spray some rustbuster on the EGR tube and drive it and it makes it easier to get loose.
