I took this the first of the week, Its just a quick walkaround of my truck. Thought ya'll might like to hear the new Cam. Comp Cams 280 installed Straight up. Beehive Valve Springs.
Orange, the color of the Dark side. But seriously i really like the truck, wish mine looked and sounded like that. How does it drive? What else did you do to the motor?
Your Right I'll have to do that. I hope to get some more footage now that I own a video Camera..
Slinger I built the motor back in HighSchool. Its been in two different trucks and is 9 years old.. No Complaints.
I put the new Cam in and Swapped the Valve Springs when I had the motor out for paint, as well as a new dbl roller timing set, new gaskets on everything. The motor is bored .030 over - Forged Pistons, Moly Rings, ported heads, edelbrock Intake, Holley Carb, balanced, Blueprinted..all the fun usual stuff. Need a bit of tweaking on the carb, but Im deciding wether to replace it with a BG Carb..
Hypoid - Thanks! Sound better when I get rid of those Cherry Bombs.. Flowmaster 40series with exhaust cut outs goin on the middle/end of next week.
Cool, I put a 390 in my 79' this past summer. It has some gasket issues and needs new rings. I would like to do a nice rebuild like you did, in a couple of years. nothing too over the top.
The Barry Grant Carbs are a very good carb, from what i here. I know www.pawengineparts.com Seel demon carbs and come with a tuning video. For a pretty decent price.
Ahhhhhhhh, the sweet rumble of CHERRY BOMBS!! LOL!!
Been a long time since I saw anything set up like that. Back in the eighties every "hot rod" was just like that: headers and cherry bombs(no tailpipes). Radio? What radio...can't hear it! Every truck I had back then had that exhaust........it took quite a few years before I would "splurge" for a full exhaust.
Don't take too much crap for a "redish" Ford motor since back in the early 60's the small block FORDS were red!
I like the "BOSS" type stripe! Cool looking truck, I like it!
