As some of you know I recently purchased (yesterday actaully) a 2003 Ranger edge (3.0 2wd, automatic), it has about 62200KM on it and i've read that ford recommends doing it at 50000, and im used to doing it around 60000 so its time to change out the ATF. What I'm not sure about is which tranny I actually have. Any help would be appreciated. Also is the fuel filter inside the tank on this model or is it on the outside of the tank in the line somewhere?

As Dave said, 5R55E for the tranny.
Fuel filter is on the frame rail approximately under the front of the driver's door. There is a filter in the pickup in the tank, which is not servicable without dropping the tank. The one you want to replace is on the frame rail.
Buy a filter that comes with replacement clips so you can just break the old ones off and not have to carefully remove them.
