Question sick 7.3 liter

Hi.I have a 1988 f-250 4x4 diesel with a 5 speed manual transmission. The engine has just over 300,000 kms.I was thinking after it totaly dies is there a gas engine that will bolt up to my 5 speed.Perhaps a 460 or something.I know my trans is one piece so there is no removeable bell housing. And i would like to try and avoid switching to an automatic trans cause in my opinion they cant take the abuse in the mud or off trail that well.So if onyone has a solution for me it would be great.thanks

300,000 KMs is barely broken in, what is wrong with yours to think it is about to die.. My 93 is turning past that this week and it is way far from the bone yard yet.......

The transmission will not fit anything but a diesel. I might be interested in the engine/ tranny. Ill PM you.
