Bronco strikes again!! Need help ASAP!
I took my bronco (89' 5.0 V8) to get diagnosed before I sell it and they told me something is up in the ignition system. The #7 cylinder basically isnt working, and there is an intermittent misfire in the #1 and #8 cylinders. All connections are good, compression is good, plug wires are two days old and of good quality (MSD). Cylinders 2-5 are OK. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldnt that rule out the coil, as it only powers the distributor? What could it be? I need help ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Check inside your distributor cap for any arching or carbon tracks. Also, was this problem there before you installed your wires? If not, recheck your firing order and your plug wire routing. If all this is well, you may have a vacuum leak or a stuck open EGR valve.

The engine acted the same before the new plugs, but I dont have proof that this particular problem was occuring. How would the engine act if it was occuring? Like, vibrations or power loss or hesitation? I got all three of those!
