Finally ordered ATS Compressor Housing!

After last summer's dissapointing surge issues while pulling the TT, I finally ordered the cure. Very excited for it to arrive. Thanks to Ryan, I have the NAPA part# for the c-clip kit. And thanks to all of you that have provided valuable info in previous threads, I should be ready when it gets here. There was just no way I was going to deal with surge on our way out of Phoenix to Flagstaff.

Since last summer's pull, I've added the DIY fuel bleed-off, CARTER lift pump and AIS. Now with the ATS Housing, I'm excited to hit the road with TT in tow.

Great news O. Did you get the wicked wheel too or keeping the stocker?

Keeping the stocker. That's what seemed to be the most popular advice from all my FTE research.

Orezona, congrats on the ATS purchase. You made a good call with keeping the stock wheel, it will flow more air. Which in turn will lower your EGTs a little.

It will be nice to finally be rid of the fear of surge and the accompanying damage. Good bet to stay with the stock wheel.

Well, I was wishing I had it the other day at the drag strip but apparantly I didn't hurt anything, and if so, it needed replacing.

Finally! Way to go.

Don't forget the little 8mm or whatever size it is 12-point wrench (as all five bolts are 12-pointers) and the 12-point socket, and a wobbly extension. You'll probably need both the socket and the wrench to get at all five bolts.

PS - from whom did you buy?

I have a family member in Eastern Oregon that sells diesel performance stuff.

On the tools, I'll need to use 1/4" drive?

3/8" will work fine. The bottom right bolt,IIRCC, is the hardest to access. I used a wrench on that one. Still a fairly easy install.

1/4" drive is what I used, but either will work. It's an 8mm or 5/16" - I had to use both.

Hey guys, I have every thing loose/removed. Any pointer on the best and safest way to remove the OE shroud? It seem kind of on there and I don't want to hit the blades...

Thanks, I'm out in the garage waiting.
