oil problem

Hi, The last time I changed my oil was around 2500 miles ago. Yesterday I checked it and it was just at the minimum level. I've never seen any oil in the driveway under the truck. Is it possible that i'm burning this oil or do i have a leak somewhere and its not dripping on the ground?? The truck is a 2004 5.4L F250 with 78,500 miles. I tow a 8500 lb trailer twice a month and it pulls it great. Thanks for any help

Sounds normal to me, I assume you mean it was a qt or two low.

Normal and quite acceptable as far as Ford standards are concerned.

Did you check your oil at the same time each day?

If you check it one morning before you start it, and then the next week after you get home, I bet it will be WAY down. Because all the oil is still up in the heads

Check it for a few weeks when you go out in the morning (or whenever you first start the truck that day). See if it's really going down...
