i had 20 bags of top soil in the bed of my 06 350 v10 reg cab going up the interstate 60 to 65 mph when i ran across a few pot holes in the road . i just about lost control it was shakeing to the point of loseing control i was in the passing lane had to slow to about 20 mph i took care of it thank god . if my wife would have been driving we might have got killed can anyone tell me what happen . has anyone every had this happen?? my truck is almost new its got 20,000 miles on it .help
I know it won't ride nearly as smooth, but inflate those tires to the max pressure stamped on the sidewall for the max weight carrying capacity, and keep them there.

YES! This is a definite symptom of the shocks not doing enough.
Replace the SHOCKS! And, put on a steering stabilizer.
Get Bilstiens, Rancho 9000's, something stiff - I like the Ranchos because I can adjust them.
Get at least a single Rancho steering stabilizer or other good brand (Bilstein).
My BRAND NEW 2001 with the stock shocks was a complete NIGHTMARE on rough road. I drove it like that for almost a year before I finally said screw it and upgraded the shocks and put a steering stabilizer on it (the stock one had bled it guts out in the first few months I had it).
20 bags of top soil is NOT enough to even squat the F350 no matter SRW DRW 4x4 or 2x4.....if properly loaded.............RTOM!!
Not "death wobble".... improper loading of a load in a pickup truck aft of the rear axle...
What is your V10 motor question?
Whole towing and hauling forum somewhere here on this site IIRC
Yes I am grumpy.... I have to come home from Germany soon to the slow lanes of America and all the watered down beer...sort of bummed... some of you "Death wobble" know it all's should do a little research...... sounds like this fellow has a reg cab 2 wheel drive SRW truck....
I am NOT disagreeing that proper air pressure, better shocks, or a good steering stabilizer is good advice...it is very good advice........but most new 05 and up Superduty trucks have OK shocks and the coil sprung steering intrigue was fixed by Dec 05.....HINT I got the fix on my 05 truck and they did NOT change shocks or add a stabilizer.......if you have been following along for a few years you know they changed the steering wheel inside the cabin......and in some cases swapped out the power steering assy for one that did not go nuttso with a little feed back from the steering wheel

hey guys thanks for all your post i think fredvon 4 might have hit it . also tire presure may have played a role in it. what ever it was i hope it dont happen to you all. i called the ford dealer and they said bring in just might do that before i get 30,000 miles on it and by the way its a 4x4 and no i wasnt running in 4x4 heck guys you couldnt tell there was a feather back there in the bed with that top soil . BE SAFE MEN AND THANKS. CAMERON
Cameon, I have the same thing on 06 250 4X4 cc, love the truck but untill I figure it out I can't drive above 70mph. I just drove to a golf vacation with a few guys and I think they had change thier pants a few time on the way.
OK here is my penance for being a grumpy a butt head...... fellow v10 owners can post any question they want here because we are all family....
Always good Idea to get a run at all the TSBs and your "owner concerns" before the warranty runs out... especially if you do not plan to invest ( I mean pee money away) in the Ford ESP....
What tires are on her?
Stock diameter, brand, your usual tire pressure, rotation schedule and method (front to rear or "X" pattern)
How did you load the 20 bags? Aft of the axle as I suspect?
Tell us more about the truck
Were the issues with steering control and jounce rebound only on wash out pot holes or did it feel like every surface imperfection induced a wobble/steering feedback
Bronco521....Tell us all about your "death wobble" on the 05 you have... what was the fix for your "death wobble"....... How many owners have died in a Ford SuperDuty as a result of death wobble?
The man asked for "help" along with his report of dangerous handling...
a one line "search "death wobble".it's a bummer." is not real helpful IMO
so searching the forums on a topic isn't going to be helpful?i don't recall mentioning that my truck had "death wobble" in this post, but there have been plenty of threads about "death wobble" on here in the past.if i could have ,from memory, listed everything that is on fte about "death wobble" i certainly would have, but thought pointing him in the way of searching a topic that would best help him.
as far as my truck is concerned,it does get some bump steer when one tire hits a bump, but it isn't nearly as bad as some other cases i have read about on here, certainly not a safety issue with my truck.there are quite a few testimonials in other threads concerning the "death wobble".
