I am replacing the tie rods (inner & outer), boots and ball joints on my 1995 Explorer, each inner tie rod has a package of grease, what is this for? The inner tie rod ball is already greased, This also has rack & pinnion that the inner tie rod screws into

To grease around the inside of the large/small ends of the boots to help keep the crap out...

Are you sure it's grease and not lock-tite (for the threads)?

It is grease, I also got a tube of lock-tite with it for the threads. I found a small instuction paper in the bottom of the box, It said to pack the grease around the ball of the inner tie rod, thanks for the reply
