I have an 1988. e/b full size the ignition key will not return to the "run" position without help, I dropped in a new replcement cyinder and it does the same thing
ok, manual says.....are there burrs on the key?..or on the lock cylinder? if the lock cyl is burred or defrayed (as we said in da navy), manual says replace it....
and did you install the new thingie in the "run" psition?..with the key in the run pos too?
i think i was brain dead last night.did you repace the switch or the cyclinder?..that ign switch should be lively...nice action to it..i changed mine in my 78 bronco last year and it was fun to click it back and forth..
whatever you replaced...since it is gummy...and useless...for now..try spraying it wwd 40 or even some alcohol...then dry it out and see if it feels springier...then a tad of light oil.
