I really don't have anything against the 302 (I've owned 4 of them) but if I was going to replace one, I'd replace it with a 351. You can pick up a long block from a rebuilder like Thunderbolt or pick up a complete engine at a wrecking yard and build it yourself.

I'm looking into finding a rebuilt for mine as well. I've got a '94 f150 Ext cab 4x4 5.0. What kind of changes would I be looking at to replace my 302 with the 351? Will the trranny still bolt up? Engine mounts?
Remember little or nothing from the 302 will fit the 351W long block. You will need all Windsor tin wear, Timming cover and intake, ect. The block is taller so even though the exaust will bolt up it will need to be raised. Yes it will bolt in where a 302 was. And is the best upgrade. IMO
I got all I needed from a blowen 351W out of a Motor Home. Free
